Hmmm. I guess this is my New Year’s resolution. It’s late, but I’m hoping to be persistent; not the “promise to become healthy and only go to the gym once” type.
I used to study Mandarin in high school but stopped before graduating. I learned enough to pass the HSK level 3 test, but I lost most of my skill since then. Which is a shame, because Chinese is one of the best languages to learn from a “value” perspective. I “promised” to learn Mandarin again soonTM throughout university, but that never happened.
So I decided to go for it and start from scratch again. With school now out of the way and me finding a little stability in life, I’m hoping that I can commit to this. Maybe it’ll make a big difference in what I can do in the far future. Or if I don’t get any material benefits, at least I can claim to be trilingual.
