Here it is. The 100th (English) blog posts. This feels like the next “big milestone” to reach after the “one year” achievement. It feels nice to know that I’ve kept this little hobby going on for over 2 years now.
I originally had this file ready back in January of 2024, but it took a lot longer to get to 100 posts than I initially thought. Here’s a graph that shows my publishing frequency.
As you can see, the overall rate has seemingly bottomed out, with occasional spikes when:
- I have more time
- I haven’t posted in a while, and end up publishing in bursts
I was very active during the first half of 2022 because everything was new and fresh (I published almost 1 post every day for the first 5 articles!). Now that I’m 2 years in, I can’t easily think of topics to write about, and I have less time than before.
Math time
Assuming my behaviour remains relatively constant, we can assume that my rate has reached a horizontal asymptote of about 0.12 posts/day. That's 1/x + 0.12, and we can integrate that to find the total number of blog posts. The result is a ln(x) + 0.12x shape. So I should expect a linear increase with 1 post roughly every 8 days. To be honest, that sounds more frequent than my recent posting frequency, but we'll see if the math holds true.Good to know I can still do basic calculus.
Still, I don’t think I’ll abandon blogging any time soon. The publishing rate might eventually drop to once a month (or even less, who knows), but I’ll still occasionally write. Or, that’s what I hope to do at least. It’s fun, and writing less frequently (but still persisting) is better than forcing myself through writer’s block and burning out.
Anyways, cheers to myself for making it this far.
